Francis Report 10-01 Dave Francis While a lot of Americans don’t realize it, the war the Islamic terrorists are waging is a world war. It has fronts all over, not just New York and Israel. If Israel ceased to exist, if the US left Saudi Arabia, and the mideast entirely, that wouldn’t solve the problem. These are evangelists with Kalishnikovs, ready to kill in the name of Allah. Infidels aren’t even worthy to be slaves, they must die. This is a brand of religious zealotry unknown in the USA. Reverend’s Fallwell and Robertsons display on the 700 club the other day are nothing compared to the passion with which these people follow their belief in their particular religious calling. For those of us now talking about how we brought this on ourselves, there is no graceful way to say it. You are wrong. The only thing we could do to avoid these terrorist attacks is to submit. We are in the middle of a battle that is a part of a Crusade. The Crusade. The same Crusade that has been going on since the 10th century. There have been long periods of inactivity at times, but it has flared up again. News from over here include: At least 25 people have been killed in a car bombing in India, carried out by Islamic terrorists. The bomb exploded near the entrance of the state legislature Monday, in continuing violence that has escalated in the last 12 years. Huge stockpiles of opium are on the move out of Pakistan, where they have been being stockpiled by both the Taliban and by Osama bin Ladin. Afghanistan accounts for 75% of the world’s opium crop, which is used to produce heroin. Last year, the Taliban officially put a stop to the production, but in reality, it was taken over by the government as a cash cow. Osama bin Laden also received a portion of the trade as a reward for ‘services rendered’ to the Taliban by his long time friend and leader of Afghanistan, Mullah Omar. The numbers could be staggering. There are reliable estimates of 4000 tons of opium, which could be put on the marketing the form of 400 tons of pure herion, creating a glut in western societies, which are the biggest consumer. Most heroin consumed in the US is produced in Latin America, but if the price falls low enough, there could be an increase in America for European heroin. Al Jazeera television from Oman continues to stand by its story that three US special forces soldiers have been captured along with 2 British SAS commandoes in the mountains of Afghanistan. The report has been denied by the US government and the Taliban. The Taliban do acknowledge that they have captured a British journalist who had snuck into the country with no papers. They do question her bona-fides as a journalist. The Taliban has reported that the female journalist in question, Yvonne Ridley, is really a Mossad agent in disguise, and is married to an Israeli Jew. Ms. Ridleys husband, a retired official of the PLO hasn’t commented. Ms. Ridley works for the Sunday Express, and was arrested near Jalalabad. The Taliban government is coming apart at the seams. Taliban chief, Mullah Omar, is staying loyal to his old pal Osama bin Ladin, but a lot of Afghanis aren’t so enamored of the Arabian interloper. It is necessary to understand that the bin Ladin faction in Afghanistan has a lot of natural resistance. They aren’t Afghanis first of all, they are Arabs. Afghanis in many circles are no more fond of being ruled by Arabs than they were of being ruled by Soviets in the 80’s or Brits in the 19th century. Bin Ladin and his crew have a lot of active supporters, but increasingly they are viewed with resentment, and in some quarters, it isn’t certain who is running the country. Christina Lamb, a correspondent with the UK’s Telegraph interviewed a defector from the Taliban, Hafiz Hassani, a former bodyguard and secret policeman, and came away with these quotes. “You must become so notorious that when you come into a room, people will tremble in their sandals.” In describing his day to day police work, Hassani said, “As we drove around at night, people would tell us where there were people who were watching a video, or playing cards, building a kite. Any form of pleasure was outlawed. If we found people doing any of these things, we would beat them with staves soaked in water. In their room, until it ran with blood or their spines snapped. Then we would leave them with no food or water, to die with the insects.” Since Hassani was from the same tribe, he for a while was a bodyguard to Mullah Omar. “He is very stupid.” He says of the Taliban leader, “He only knows how to write his name, Omar, and sign it. Among the Taliban, there are no educated people. They are all backward and illiterate. It is the first time in history these people have ruled Afghanistan. They call themselves clerics, but they don’t know Islam.” On the current situation in-country, “We laughed when we heard the Americans wanted Omar to hand over Osama. The Americans are crazy. It is Osama who can hand over Omar, not the other way around. Osama has guards all over the country. They are all Arabs, very tall, or Sudanese, with curly hair. The Taliban also has a lot of Pakistanis. They are the real power now. I was there when Osama went bird shooting with Omar, and when they went fishing, with hand grenades. Osama traveled in 7 or 8 heavily guarded cars.” Hassani went on to describe Taliban soldiers being issued with blank marriage certificates when they are sent off to battle. These are licenses to rape, essentially. While the Taliban are stingy with vices such as kite flying and videos, there are other pleasures they are freer with. Side note, the green eye that is sported by Mullah Omar is false, and he has had it since losing his eye in the war against the Soviet Union in the 1980s, where he fought side by side with Osama bin Ladin. Reportedly, in a pitched battle, Omar was struck in the eye by a shell fragment. He took a knife, cut out the offending object, and continued the fight. 24 family members of Osama bin Ladin have left the USA, in fear of being ‘lynched.’ One, a student at Harvard university was flown home to Saudi Arabia along with others over the weekend. Most of bin Ladins family have disowned him, and in no way support his terrorist activities. The New York Times filed a report on the Clinton administrations clandestine efforts to kill bin Ladin, and disrupt the Al Qaeda network over the past few years. Samuel R. Berger, a Clinton administration security adviser said, “This was a tough, tough problem and not a day went by that we didn’t work on it. I think the Bush administration is going about it in the right way.” Berger outlined some of the efforts the Clinton administration had made, including attempting to have Afghanistans national airline, long suspected by US intelligence to be a courier service for al Qaeda, de-certified, and have bin Ladin killed. John Ashcroft said it publicly, and a lot of intelligence types are saying it privately. Bin Ladins forces are still there, and they are still planning more attacks on US and other western forces. He is believed to have thousands of willing moles, agents who have slipped into western societies, and are living as members of that society, who can spring to action at a moments notice. Hundreds of suicide attacks, in dramatic fashion, are feared. "I understand he is preparing for high-impact terrorist attacks in the coming weeks, if he's able to," British Minister for Europe Peter Hain said. "We've got to track him down. We've got to stop him." Privately, intelligence officials in Russia fear the worst if bin Ladin is killed. A ‘Gotterdammerung” scenario, with all available bin Ladin agents plunging the world into chaos with suicide attacks on everything from airports to zoos is feared. When the serious shooting starts in Afghanistan, the Russian secret service wants to settle some scores in Chechnya, where there hands have been tied by international condemnation of the engagements with Islamic radicals. Privately, Russian forces are hoping to be allowed to go in and get the job done once the worlds attention is focused on a ‘hot’ conflict in Afghanistan. Nobody here in Russia doubts that bin Ladins group may have chemical or biological weapons, and it is widely accepted that he has a nuclear laboratory in Afghanistan. There are reports that in the weeks leading up to the attacks on the US, that a certain Dr. Shahour al Jabouri was spotted by Russian intelligence agents in Baghdad returning from a trip to Afghanistan. The significance may be ominous. The reclusive al Jabouri is a scientist working as the head of the 3rd directorate of the Makharat, (Iraqi Intelligence Service) at the ghoulish Radwani jail, in west Baghdad. Thousands of prisoners at Radwani have been used as human guinea pigs for Jabouri, as he tests nerve gases and other concoctions from his hideous laboratories. Three men were arrested in Germany. They were identified only as 27-year-old Talip T. of Turkey and Wadee Al-A., 24, and Shahab Al-A., 26, of Yemen. They were linked with a web site that has been used to recruit Muslim fighters for the war against Russia in the Caucuses. It is now widely recognized that the Chechen conflict has bin Ladin prints all over it. They are still searching for 26 year old Said Bahaji, a German national of Moroccan extraction who was reportedly in charge of what may be yet another cell of terrorists working from Germany. The Christian evangelists who were arrested in Afghanistan on charges of spreading Christianity have made their first appearances in front of the magistrate since Sept. 11, who will try their cases. Judge Soor Mohammed Saqib assured them they will not be affected by the current hostile environment between Afghanistan and the US. One of the eight, Heather Mercer has reportedly written a letter to her mother asking the US to hold off on any retaliation for the September 11th attacks until the group is freed, adding “We all want to live.” The UN apparently is beginning to believe the US may not attack very soon. A couple of weeks ago, the UN pulled all of its aid workers from Afghanistan, but over the weekend several have returned. Trucks loaded down with supplies, including food, left Pakistan headed for Kabul. China has stepped up military and police operations in it’s Xinjiang province, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan. 60 million Muslims live in the autonomous republic, and many have been drawn to Osama bin Ladin’s al Qaida network over the last several months. The ethnic Uighur population has worked out a ‘corridor of cooperation’ with bin Ladin, and some have reportedly offered him sanctuary in the mountainous area. In the meantime, the idiocy is beginning to come out. There is the internet rumor that 4000 Jews missed work at the WTC on the 11th, all supposedly warned by Mossad to miss work. Then here in Russia, we have the ‘newspaper’, and I use the term loosely, Zaftra disinforming its readers that the information and realities on the hijacking don’t add up. Zaftra then tells its readers that since each plane had 3 or 4 hijackers, it would have been impossible to take them over in the 20 seconds they would have had, and also impossible to get into the always locked cabin door protecting the cockpit. (Last I heard, the reports were 19 hijackers to 4 planes, which is about 5 per, and the last time I flew, my 8 year old daughter breached the cockpits security, and this was on an international flight.) The conspiracy nuts are beginning to crawl out from under the rocks, and the sooner the light of day is shed on their lies, the better we will all be. DJF |
